"Boys will be boys!" You've heard it, chances are you've said it many times. And we all know what it means. Boys want to be men. They're strong, maybe even macho, but certainly they won't admit to being soft, compassionate, or other terms reserved for the girls!
If you've got a boy, maybe with an upcoming birthday, and you want to throw a party and make it special, something they will remember with fond recollections...can I suggest using a sports themed bithday party idea.
Themes for Party
If your son, nephew, or grandson has a favorite football team, why not use the sport and team as the theme for the party. Here are a few party ideas to make it a special occassion that your boy will remember long after everyone's gone home.
- Birthday cake with football or helmet and team name
- Flag or Banner hung from the wall or ceiling
- Set of plastic cups, plates, and paper napkins with the team logo
Finding the Party
Of course no party is complete without food, beverages, and friends. To make sure the friends find the right house, hang a banner from a banner pole, or right on the front of the house. Or put a team garden flag at the mailbox. Better yet, if you have a flagpole in your yard, fly a 3 ft x 5 ft team flag right under the American flag so that your guests can find your house.
If the weather cooperates, provide a football for outdoor play during the party before you serve the cake and ice cream. If the weather's bad, get a pack of team temporary tattoos and apply them on every party goer as part of the party theme. Of course, not everyone attending will be a big fan of your boy's favorite team, so invite them to come sporting their favorite team's colors and gear.
Boys Party Gift Ideas
Many online stores provide gifts and party items. For instance, tailgate party packs that feature full sets of plastic cups, plates, & napkins with the team logo printed on them. These are not available for every NCAA team, but are for almost every NFL team. Go to your favorite online team logo store and check on availability of the tailgate party sets, temporary tattoos, single- and double-sided banners, 3 ft x 5 ft team flags, team logo plastic table coverings as well suitable gifts that your boy would want.
For gift ideas following along the same sports party theme, how about a wallet, a team stuffed mascot, a full-size football complete with the team logo. Whatever items would appear to be age appropriate. For many teams, online stores provide team backpacks, computer mouse and mouse pad, as well as calculators and pencil 6-packs, all with the team logo and colors.
Along with the gifts mentioned, most online team logo stores also feature banners, flags, windsocks and items for decoration, or to help identify the party location. There are also many other team logo items available for gifts than the ones discussed previously.
Planning a party for your special boy can be a head-scratcher, hopefully the boys party ideas here are useful, and maybe even a little fun too!
