NFL Tickets- More Injuries in Week 14
The regular season may be drawing to a close in three short weeks, but that doesn't mean that teams aren't dealing with injuries. In fact, how a team deals with injuries at this point in the season is often the difference between a playoff berth and a longer offseason. Week 14 equaled more injuries for teams, some of which required placing players on injured reserve. The Washington Redskins' left tackle Chris Samuels ended up on injured reserve after week 14 as did the Denver Broncos' tailback Peyton Hillis and the Jacksonville Jaguars' defensive back Chad Nkang. Fans can still see the teams try to fight it out at the end of the seasons by reserving their team's NFL tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/nfl-tickets.
Samuels tore his triceps during the fourth quarter of the Redskins game against the Baltimore Ravens where the Ravens won 24-10. He has been with the Redskins since they selected him in the first round of the 2000 draft as the third pick overall. He has earned five Pro Bowl invites in his career, the latest being last season. Samuels has stayed relatively healthy throughout his nine seasons, only missing four starts prior to this season. He has started in 136 games for the Redskins. The injury to Samuels is one of many for the Redskins, who have had to shuffle around players multiple times this season. Right tackle Jon Jansen may also be out because of a knee injury. Just in Geiseinger, the backup center, came in as the tackle but Samuels' permanent replacement will be Stephon Heyer.
The injury to the Peyton Hillis is more tragic than most as it is just another blow to the Broncos' backfield. The Broncos now have to play their seventh tailback of the season, Tatum Bell. Hillis's injury was preceded by season ending injuries to tailbacks Andre Hall, Michael Pittman, Anthony Alridge and Ryan Torain. Selvin Young is also out indefinitely with a torn groin. Hillis tore his right hamstring against the Kansas City Chiefs. Hillis is in his rookie season this year with the Broncos. Before his injury, he started in six games and played in 12. He tallied 343 yards on 68 attempts as well as five rushing touchdowns. He also had 179 yards on 14 receptions as well as one passing touchdown. In the game against the Chiefs, Hillis had 58 yards and one touchdown on eight carries.
Chad Nkang is in his second year in the NFL and his second season with the Jaguars. Nkang also started his season with an injury, being placed on the physically unable to perform list. He made it back to the active roster and played in seven games this season with no starts. He tallied five tackles. Last season, Nkang saw playing time in all 16 games with no starts. He had 17 tackles that season. To replace him, the Jaguars signed Kennard Cox, a rookie from the Green Bay Packers; practice squad. The Jaguars face the Packers during week 15.
