Ravens 2010 Schedule: Front-Loaded But Some Good Breaks

1) The schedule is mind-numbingly top heavy. Even more so than last nfl jersey year. Three of the five toughest games (at Jets, at Steelers, at Pats) are in the first six weeks. It's very possible the Ravens could lose all five  and still go 10-6. So don't sweat 3-3 to start, is the point. Winning out 2000 style is very possible.

2) The only game I really don't like is the first. Forget playing the Jets, who likely won't stink this year. It's never good playing a team when they open a new stadium. Homecoming game, that's what it is. The upsides are that Harbaugh is at his best when he's ruining someone else's celebration (see Dallas in 2008) and it'll be as healthy as the starters will be all season.

3) With the exception of the aforementioned Jets opener, the Ravens dodged relative bullets in all of their tough games. All due respect to the "beat us twice" Bengals, they're coming back to Earth. Ditto with the Broncos. And the road game at Atlanta and Houston didn't make the Tough list, but could be close. So we have to play at the Jets' christening game. We get the following breaks:

Week 4 @ Pittsburgh. Winning there is never easy, but it's easier if Ben NoMeansNo is serving his four-week sentence.

Week 6 @ New England. Yeah, we ALWAYS get them on the road. But it's in October, not December.

Week 13 vs. Pittsburgh. Night game against Roethlisberger (maybe, it's a long mlb jerseys season). But it's in Baltimore.

Week 15 vs. New Orleans. If you have to play the best dome offense in the game, wouldn't you prefer doing so in Maryland in the winter?

The Ravens, in their quest to go to the playoffs for the third straight season, have a tough road ahead of them -- at least in the beginning. Their first seven games before the bye include road trips to the Jets (on Monday Night Football nfl jersey ), Bengals, Steelers and Patriots.

The second half of the schedule isn't as difficult, but it does include nationally televised games at the Falcons and Texans plus a home date against the Steelers.

And Dec. 19, with the Saints coming to town, looms large before the Ravens close out the season at the Browns and at home against the Bengals. Of course, you never really know how a schedule will play out until it's just about finished, but it definitely looks like the Ravens have their work cut out for them in 2010.
